Keith and Cindy Allred started Allred Motors, Inc. on
January 2nd, 1999. Keith had worked at another dealership for 11 years
prior to starting his own business. Cindy had worked for many years in the
insurance business but always had a desire to teach. She later went to
college and received her degree in elementary education. She earned her
Master's degree in 2004. Cindy now teaches 3rd grade students at Central
Elementary School.
Keith graduated from Symsonia High School in northern Graves County, Kentucky in
1976, with a graduating class of about 40. He worked for Kelley-Wilmore after
high school, burning telephone cable. After a winter layoff, he worked for
the Graves County Road Department until a job opened at General Tire and Rubber
Company. After a year and a half at General, Keith experienced another
layoff, and in 1978 went to work at Driver Motors. Being a car salesman
for the next few years proved to be quite a challenge. It was during those
years that the Chrysler Motor Co. had difficulties with bankruptcy. The Allred
family was struggling, so Keith made another move in 1982, and began driving a
truck for Pepsi-Cola. This enabled him to support his wife and new baby girl.
Keith then transferred to the Coca-Cola Co., where he stayed until 1986.
The company was bought out and Keith left Coca-Cola.
It was back to the car business. Keith was hired at Wheeler McClain
Ford-Lincoln-Mercury (presently Purchase Ford) at Mayfield, Kentucky.
After one year, he went to work as a salesman for Bennett Motors and remained
there for eleven years. With the family expanding from a daughter, Cori,
to a son, Jon Kyle, Keith and Cindy proceeded to go into business for themselves
after one and a half years of sincere prayer. Allred Motors opened on
January 2nd, 1999. Keith and Cindy have deeply appreciated the support of
faithful customers and friends during the last seven years. They are now
beginning their 8th Year in business and are thankful to the Lord Jesus
for everything He has done. Keith and Cindy Allred, along with their
daughter, Cori, and son Jon Kyle, attend Trace Creek Baptist Church and remain
very active in ministries.
